The Dover-Foxcroft Police Department processes and issues permits for concealed handguns for Dover-Foxcroft residents

Application Process
- Fill out the application. Please write legibly
- Be sure to initial at the bottom of every page
- The release on page 9 has to be signed in front of and by a witness over the age of 18.
(You may have your own witness or someone in the office may act as your witness).
- PAGES 9-13 MUST BE COMPLETED EVEN IF YOU WERE NOT A PATIENT. FAILURE TO COMPLETE THESE PAGES WILL RESULT IN DENIAL OF YOUR PERMIT.
- Return your application to the Dover-Foxcroft Police Department, with the appropriate fee:
$45 for new permits (or permits expired over 6 months)
$30 for renewals
$12 for a change of address or name
$10 for a duplicate/replacement card.
- Payments can be made with CASH, CHECK or MONEY ORDER ONLY at this time. Please make check or money order out to Town of Dover-Foxcroft
The police department will contact you when your permit is ready. Please be patient, as this process can take up to 30 days or more.
Note: Effective 2/1/2013 new permit applicants will be required to have some form of firearms safety training before a Carry Permit can be issued. Proof of training should be submitted with your application. Examples of training include NRA Safety training and/or private instruction from a certified firearms instructor.
