Dover-Foxcroft Fire Department



In July 1848, the Foxcroft Village Fire Company was chartered.  Dover citizens soon asked to join.  In 1850, it was voted to purchase an engine at a cost of $903.  The last time this engine was known to have fought in a fire was 1895 when the Mayo, now the Ward Building, caught fire.  Equipment in the Department has grown since its origins 150 years ago.

Today the department maintains the following pieces of equipment to provide fire protection and rescue services to the people of Dover-Foxcroft:
